Tulane Business Forum Brings Innovation to the Forefront

New Orleans - The 29th annual Tulane Business Forum will feature an impressive program centered on the theme of innovation in business. Experts will share their insights and will challenge business leaders to take new looks at the “old ways of doing business.” These innovative visionaries will share new ideas and offer fresh approaches to businesses, customers and growth opportunities. A highlight of this year’s forum will be keynote luncheon speaker Richard M. Bracken, president and COO of Hospital Corporation of America - HCA (Nashville, Tenn.). Mr. Bracken will share his unique perspective “on the role innovation has played in developing one of America’s largest healthcare delivery organizations and how it will shape its future.”

The Tulane Business Forum will be held on October 17, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. Included among the other presenters are: William F. Borne, chairman and CEO of Amedisys (Baton Rouge). Borne, too, will discuss health care, focusing on how the system should be modeled to address the chronic health conditions of America’s aging population.

Major General David M. Mize (Ret.), senior vice president for Apogen Technologies/QinetiQ North America (Metairie), will provide an update on the Federal City project slated for the West Bank of New Orleans. The project’s aim is to enhance economic development by creating “a national model for a new kind of military base that provides all required security but also shares the inst allation and its costs with a combination of federal and compatible commercial activities.”

Debra Neill Baker and Edwin Neill III, CEO and president, respectively, of Neill Corporation (Hammond) will discuss the critical role innovation plays in the operation of their family-owned business and its necessity in maintaining sustainability in today’s marketplace.

Seasoned New Orleans’ business writer and editor, Kathy A. Hornbeck, chairman, president and CEO, Hornbeck Offshore Services Inc. (Covington); and Matthew M. Wisdom, co-founder and CEO, TurboSquid Inc. (New Orleans).
