WBOK 1230AM in New Orleans has begun broadcasting via the Internet. In the few months since its broadcast launch, the "Talk Back - Talk Black" station has distinguished itself as a voice for hurricane Katrina's dispossessed and displaced African Americans.

The station was purchased and re-activated following Katrina by Danny Bakewell, a New Orleans "6th ward" product who became a successful Los Angeles businessman and owner of the Los Angeles Sentinel.
