Voodoo Social Aid & Pleasure Club

Voodoo is less than one month away. In a matter of weeks we will congregate in City Park in awe of Nine Inch Nails and their wall of lights, video and sound. Lil Wayne will make a triumphant home coming and over 150 other bands will share their passion on the Voodoo stages. The celebration of the tenth ritual won't stop there though. New Orleans never sleeps and the spirit of Voodoo will extend to Frenchmen Street, Uptown, the Warehouse District and the French Quarter. Join the Voodoo Social Aid and Pleasure Club for exclusive invitations to private parties, special events and discounted tickets. Membership is free.

Voodoo Duets

To celebrate the Tenth Ritual the Voodoo stages will be electrified by amazing duets and special moments. The legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band will add traditional New Orleans swagger to the Grammy winning gospel vocals of the Blind Boys of Alabama, salsa funk pioneers Ozomatli will reunite with founding member Chali 2na, while an explosion of Nashville and New Orleans brass will collide when The Dynamites featuring James Walker and their 60's style soul review are joined on stage by the trombone blasting Big Sam's Funky Nation. The Voodoo schedule is filled with special collaborations and more are sure to organically happen throughout the weekend.

Voodoo Exploration

N.E.R.D – The acronym N.E.R.D. stands for "No One Ever Really Dies." Featuring childhood friends Chad Hugo, Pharrell Williams, and Shay, N.E.R.D. is the front and center rock star alter ego of super producer The Neptunes. As the Neptunes, Hugo and William created highly distinctive brand of off-kilter, stripped-down electronic funk. There live performance fusses alternative rock with hip hop. (Sunday October 26, PlayStation/Billboard Stage at 4 pm)

Reverend Horton Heat – This Dallas Texas three piece creates a self described "Country-fed punkabilly" live show. Featuring a manic mixture of country, punk, big band, swing, and rockabilly Reverend Horton Heat play loud, furious and energetic with an emphasis on outrageous and humorous lyrics. (Friday October 24, WWOZ/Soco Stage at 7:45)

Fleur de Tease – This modern twist on a classic vaudeville show has something to please and tease every audience member. Magicians, fire eaters, comedians, aerialists and of course beautiful burlesque dancers all make up the core members of the troupe. Special guest artists such as sword swallowers, singers, and other circus acts make each show a unique and different experience so no two programs are ever the same. (Saturday October 25, Bingo! Parlor at 3:30)
