As the time for First Fridays: "Fashion Fest" draws closer and closer, our models will gain opportunities to be interviewed and let the NewOrleansBlack.com audience get to know them a little better before the show. First up is Ariel, more commonly known as "Yell."

How long have you been modeling?
This is my first actual gig for modeling. I've never done print or runway or anything, but I feel like this isn't something I don't have experience in. School is a runway everyday.

Did you ever want to model before this opportunity?
Yes. I considered it several times. Friends and family members of mine always encouraged it, so I don't see how it's not something I should try.

So, how did you get involved with the First Fridays: Fashion Fest show?
A friend of mine auditioned and made the cut. When he told me that they were holding a second audition, I tried out myself and next thing you know, I'm in my first fashion show.

How do you feel about your modeling now?
I like it. It's a lot of fun and it's not as uptight as what I previously thought it would be.

What are your aspirations for the future?
I want to become a lawyer; hopefully I can be a sports attorney.

Do you have any aspirations in the entertainment industry?
Not really. I'm not too big on being a celebrity. I feel better representing them legally.
