The models of First Friday’s: “Fashion Fest 2007” gained opportunities to be interviewed so that the NewOrleansBlack.com audience could get to know them a little better. Next up is Amrita a.k.a. “Rita“.

How long have you been modeling?
The “Fashion Fest 2007” was my first show.

Have you ever wanted to model while growing up?
Yes. People would tell me all the time that I had a pretty face and that I should start a portfolio. I just took the compliments and ran with it.

So, how did you get involved with the First Fridays: Fashion Fest show?
A friend of mine who was working with the production team encouraged me to try out. I decided to give it a try and to my surprise, I was selected for the show.

How do you feel about your modeling now?
I think it’s so fun. I like it a lot. I was kind of nervous in the beginning, but I’m enjoying it so much now.

What are some current stats on Rita?
Age: 19
From: New Orleans - Mid-City/Uptown
High school: Fountainbleau H.S. `05
College/Univ: University of New Orleans
Major: Art (Theatrical)/Liberal Arts
Current title: student and waitressing services

What are your aspirations for the future?
I want to be an entrepreneur one day. I want to own properties to sell, and I eventually want to open my own bar or shoe store or maybe both.

Do you have any aspirations in the entertainment industry?
I want to do everything. I like modeling, but I also have interests in acting, singing, and dance.

Tell the world one quote that you live by and why you chose that quote.
“I’m so fricken’ cute.” That’s just me being ditzy. I don’t really have a quote I live by. I just live for the day.
