Description: Minimum High School Graduate with CPC or RHIT certification required. Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy & physiology. Minimum of 2-3 years of professional coding experience required. Preferably with expertise in Cardio thoracic and vascular specialty. Understanding and proficiency in use of modifiers. Knowledge of CPT Assistant guidelines, Medicare / Medicaid, Coding guidelines, and individual payer coding guidelines. Knowledge of RBRVS. Assign ICD-9-CM diagnosis and CPT Procedure codes for billing and statistical purposes for inpatient and outpatient physician encounters according to ICD-9-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and CPT coding guidelines. AAPC or AHIMA certification required.
