Requirements
Summary:
Processes deposits and change orders from our large commercial customers who use the services of the armored car companies. Communicates with customers by telephone to solve minor differences in their deposits.
Duties and Responsibitlites:
• Processes deposits consisting of checks and currency accurately.
• Responsible for verifying all currency included in deposits accurately within 48 hours as required by Audit, then notifying customers of any differences discovered in accordance with established specifications.
• Responsible for ensuring that all currency bands are properly identifiable. If not, the teller will indicate the following: Customer name, date of deposit and total deposit amount.
• Maintains a working supply of verified cash on hand which is needed to fill customers’ requests for payrolls. Currency should be so verified as to minimize customer complaints as to its condition and/or discrepancies. Currency is to be bagged, properly tagged and sealed, then transferred to payroll teller for shipment.
• Performs independent verification of commercial payrolls to be sent out daily in accordance with established policy and procedures.
• Performs necessary steps to process bonds, coupons, foreign currency, food coupons and collection items.
• Initiates individual book debit and credit advises to customers/ accounts for deposit discrepancies and also completes a customer difference sheet.
• Reconciles customer receipts to be mailed against the terminal totals for DDA deposits processed.
• Responsible for matching the tag to the cut document accurately and notifying control teller of any differences immediately and documenting any differences.
• Responsible for balancing tellers’ cash position within department standards throughout the day. Tellers’ verification may vary from 15 to 20 minutes per day, and balancing differences should not exceed $300.00 monthly over or short.
• Responsible for securing individual teller busses all cash, which will be placed in the main vault and retrieved the next working day.
• Performs the necessary tracking of customer activity for use in account analysis.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Basic Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of cash handling experience
• Proficient in 10 key data entry
