Juanita Bynum's Husband Turns Himself in to Police

ATLANTA (AP) -- The husband of televangelist Juanita Bynum turned himself in to authorities Friday to face charges after a confrontation in which his wife was badly bruised.
Bishop Thomas Weeks III, the founder of Global Destiny churches, surrendered at the Fulton County Jail to face charges of aggravated assault and terroristic threats.
He declined to speak to reporters as he entered the jail.
Police say the two struggled early Wednesday in the parking lot of a hotel near the Atlanta airport, and a bellman pulled Weeks off Bynum.
Police spokesman Ronald Campbell said Thursday that the two were talking about a reconciliation and got into an argument.
Bynum is a former homemaker, hairdresser and flight attendant who became a Pentecostal evangelist. She got a break when Bishop T.D. Jakes invited her to speak at one of his conferences several years ago.
Her ministry blossomed after her "No More Sheets" sermon about breaking free of sexual promiscuity at a singles event. She writes books, records inspirational CDs and preaches to millions through televised sermons.
The couple married in 2002 in a televised wedding.
