NEW ORLEANS, LA – November 13, 2008 // The Ghost Rider Creative Workshop will take place this Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the Louisiana Technical College Metairie Campus located at 5200 Blair Drive.
Conducted by Writer/Producer/Director Steven Scaffidi, the workshop is designed to teach students how to take an idea and develop it into a story for film, television, a book and more. This unique workshop uses film and television to take the mystery out of writing and will get students started on a real project. The Ghost Rider Workshop has been supported by the State of Louisiana's Department of Labor and has trained students through programs with Louisiana Technical College-Region 1, New Orleans Access Television, The University of New Orleans, and The Urban League. The workshop is open to all students who are interested in turning ideas into reality.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
1. To challenge students to come up with fresh original ideas and to allow those ideas to inspire the student to write.
2. To teach students how to organize their thoughts and understand how to construct a story.
3. To use film and television as a guide to understanding story telling and to apply writing skills to school assignments and everyday applications.
4. To make writing enjoyable and to encourage students to write a book, television script, film screenplay or anything else.
